London Physiotherapy and Wellness

Here are some common questions we hear

We see and treats patient for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses. Common clinical cases we see include things like ACL Surgery post-op recovery, Spinal fusion surgery recoveries, Fibromyalgia treatment and more. Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.

Before booking anything, the best thing to do is speak with your Insurer directly and request physiotherapy treatment. They'll usually provide you with a treatment authorisation code, which we can use to bill the session to them. It is also worth double-checking if you have an excess to pay (similar to how car insurance works). If you do have an excess, your insurer will send the unpaid invoice(s) back to us, which you'll then need to pay.

We usually recommend wearing clothes you can comfortably move around in like sportswear. For hydrotherapy, all you need is swimwear. The clinic provides towels and shower facilities.

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.

Physiotherapists are licensed medical professionals that are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness. They take a holistic approach, considering the patient's physical, psychological, and social well-being.

In essence, a physiotherapist works to:

  • Restore movement and function: Helping individuals regain abilities lost due to injury, surgery, or illness.
  • Reduce pain: Using various techniques to alleviate discomfort.
  • Prevent further injury: Educating on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques.
  • Improve quality of life: Enabling people to participate more fully in daily activities and maintain independence.

Physiotherapists work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private clinics, sports clubs, schools, and community health centres. They treat a wide range of conditions, from musculoskeletal problems like back pain and sports injuries to neurological conditions like stroke and multiple sclerosis, as well as respiratory and cardiovascular issues.

Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors. Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your therapist may communicate with your doctor to help you achieve your therapy goals, if a referral has been made.

Our clinic is proud to have many physiotherapists on staff who have obtained and achieved advanced certifications in orthopaedics, women's health, spinal rehab, sports, hand therapy, manual therapy, and paediatrics.

To cancel your appointment, please use the cancel link in the booking confirmation email. Alternatively, contact our receptionist on 020 8983 3218. Appointments can only be canceled with at least 24 hours notice. Canceling with under 24 hours notice will result in the full fee being payable, even for insurance appointments. The same goes for missed appointments.

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. In fact, nowadays it's more likely that you'll need a referral from a physiotherapist to see a doctor or have a scan!
